Taylor 1459 Digital Wireless Remote Temperature and Humidity Sensor

The Taylor 1459 Digital Wireless Remote Temperature and Humidity Sensor monitors the temperature and relative humidity at an outdoor or other remote location, displays these readings locally in its own LCD panel, and transmits them to an associated Taylor 1458 Digital Wireless Indoor Outdoor Thermo-Hygrometer main unit for display at that location. The 1458 comes with one 1459 remote and can work with up to three. The 1459 is part of Taylor's latest line of weather products, all of which feature a slim, contoured profile. The 1459 remote can be wall-mounted or free-standing.

The Taylor 1459 Digital Wireless Remote Temperature and Humidity Sensor features the sleek styling and silver color of Taylor's latest line of weather products. This remote is used with the Taylor 1458 Wireless Indoor Outdoor Thermo-Hygrometer. The 1459 displays the temperature in °F or °C and the relative humidity in percent. Compact in size, the 1459 remote is 3-1/4 inches wide by 3 inches high by 7/8 inch deep.

The 1459 remote thermo-hygro sensor is ideal for monitoring the temperature and humidity not only outdoors but also in your baby's room, wine cellar, greenhouse, garage, garden, spa, hot tub, swimming pool, aquarium, or wherever else it might be needed.
On the 1459, the temperature digits are 3/8 inch tall (tenths of a degree are about half that size). Temperatures can be displayed in either °F or °C, as selected by a pushbutton in the battery compartment on the back of the case. Relative humidity is displayed as percent in digits 1/4 inch tall.

The 1459 comes with a temperature probe on a detachable 11-foot (3.3-meter) cable. The probe is used for measuring the temperature in water and also in soil. Another use for the probe is in extremely cold conditions, in which case you bring the remote inside and extend the probe outside (by hanging it out of a window, for example). If used outdoors, the 1459 should be mounted in a sheltered location out of direct sunlight and where direct precipitation cannot fall on it. Although this remote is splash-resistant, it is not waterproof.

Outdoor/remote temperature measuring range of the 1459 is -4°F to +140°F (-20° to +60°C). Using lithium batteries in the 1459 extends its low temperature measuring limit to -40°F (-40°C). With the probe attached, the 1459's low temperature measuring limit is further extended to -58°F (-50°C). Relative humidity measuring range is 20% to 99%.

Maximum transmission range of the 1459 is 100 feet (30 meters) in an open area with no interference.

The 1459 remote is powered by two AA (1.5V) alkaline batteries. These are not included and must be obtained separately. Expected battery life is 1 year. If the 1459 remote will be used in sub-freezing temperatures, lithium AA batteries are recommended instead of alkaline.

On the back of the 1459 are a keyhole slot for wall mounting and an integral folding table stand. A wall anchor and wall-mounting screw are included. This product comes with a 1-year factory warranty.
