Digital Instant Read Thermometer

The Taylor 9844 Digital Cooking Thermometer is part of Taylor's Classic line of kitchen products, which are designed for accuracy, readability, and reliability. The 9844 shows you the internal temperature of both hot and cold foods in only 5 seconds and updates the temperature thereafter every 1 second. This thermometer has a wide measuring range of -14°F to +392°F or -10°C to +200°C. The display portion is 1-3/4 inches wide by 1-3/4 inches high, and the digits on the display are 0.3 inches tall. Overall length (with case) is 7-1/4 inches, and the stem (probe) length is 4 inches.

The Taylor 9844 Thermometer is suitable for both very hot and very cold foods. You simply insert the stem of the 9844 into the food, wait 5 seconds, and the digital temperature is displayed and then updated every second. This thermometer comes with a handy pocket sleeve for transportation and storage.

To use the 9844 digital instant read thermometer, you press ON/OFF to turn it on and then press °F/°C if you want to change the temperature unit. You insert the stem at least 1 inch into the food being tested and leave it in the food until the display stabilizes, which should take about 5 seconds. You can then remove the thermometer from the food and read the temperature. When you're finished using the 9844, you turn it off and clean it (to prevent cross-contamination if other foods need to be checked at this time). To avoid burns when using the 9844 food thermometer near heat, you can use the pocket sleeve as a handle by inserting the stem through the small hole in the sleeve.

For powering, the Taylor 9844 professional waterproof instant read thermometer uses one long-life LR44 (1.5V) battery, which is included and preinstalled. To prolong battery life, the 9844 has an automatic shut-off feature that turns the power off after 10 minutes if no change in temperature occurs. This product is covered by a Taylor 1-year warranty.

Please Note: Never leave the Taylor 9844 in the oven while cooking. Wash the 9844 by hand, not in a dishwasher. Store the 9844 in its plastic sleeve. Finally, after changing the battery, make sure that the battery compartment door is properly and completely closed. If the door is not fully closed, water can get into the battery compartment and cause the unit to malfunction.
