Taylor 9517L HACCP
Commercial Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer |
|
The Taylor
9517L is a commercial quality non-contact infrared thermometer. The
9517L has a simple point-and-read design that is both user friendly and
perfect for safely measuring the temperature of food without risking
cross-contamination. It features a HACCP check light warning system which graphically indicates critical temperature zones. This
precision instrument is ruggedly built, and highly accurate with an impressive temperature measuring
range of
-67°F
to +662°F (-55°C to +350°C)
and is designed for commercial use (such as
food service applications).
|
|
|
|
The Taylor 9517L is easy, even fun, to
use. Activate the
infrared thermometer to measure surface temperatures without
contact. A padded carrying case
and two preinstalled AAA batteries are included. The 9517L
measures 4-1/2 inches long by 1-7/8 inches wide.
| |
|
|
Features of the 9517L include Minimum and Maximum display modes and a Lock
mode for the infrared thermometer and a warning light system for food temperatures.
The infrared thermometer also has an
automatic white light targeting feature to helps you accurately aim the 9517L
at the desired object (the target surface). Infrared
Thermometer
The 9517L's infrared
thermometer shows measurement
Scan and Hold indications and a battery icon (OK, low, or
exhausted). To use the infrared thermometer in the normal
measurement mode, you simply aim the infrared lens at the
target to be measured and press the Scan button. You can hold the Scan
button depressed to measure more than one target in an
area, in which case the reading goes up or down if the
target temperature varies. The last infrared temperature
measurement remains displayed for 15 seconds, after which
the 9517L automatically powers itself down. The
infrared thermometer also has available Minimum, Maximum,
and Lock modes. In the Minimum mode, holding the Scan
button depressed as you aim the 9517L at multiple targets
causes the displayed temperature to change downward only
when a target temperature lower than the previous low
target temperature is detected. In the Maximum mode,
holding the Scan button depressed as you aim the 9517L at a
number of targets causes the displayed temperature to
change upward only when a target temperature higher than
the previous high target temperature is detected. The Lock
mode is particularly useful for continuous temperature
monitoring. In this mode, the 9517L continuously displays
the temperature for 60 minutes or until the Scan button is
pressed.
Here
are some things you should know when using the infrared
thermometer in the 9517L:
-
To
get a correct temperature reading, you must make sure
that the detection area to be measured is larger than
the required spot size of the infrared beam. The
temperature indicated on the 9517L is an average
temperature for the detected area. The smaller the
target, the shorter the required distance for
measuring is. The 9517L's distance-to-spot (D/S) ratio
is 2.5 to 1. Thus, at a measuring distance of 5 inches,
for example, the spot size is 2 inches. A diagram on
the front of the 9517L helps you to determine what the
spot size will be over a range of distances.
-
The 9517L's
infrared thermometer is factory-set for an emission factor (or
emissivity) of
0.95. On this thermometer, the emission factor
is user-adjustable over a range from 0.05 to 1.00. Most
surfaces have an emission factor of 0.8 to 0.98 (the darker
and less reflective the surface, the greater the emission
factor). Please be aware that infrared thermometers are not
suitable for measuring the temperature of polished metals,
which have a very low emission factor. Affixing adhesive tape
to polished metals, or painting them, increases the emission
factor and reduces the inaccuracy of the measurement. Also,
infrared thermometers cannot be used to measure the
temperature of transparent objects or air temperature.
In
addition to operating instructions and the included AAA batteries, the Taylor 9517L Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer
comes with a padded vinyl
carrying case for transportation and storage.

We can handle large orders
for nearly anything we have by special order, and quantity
discounts are available.
For quantities of 10 or more, or if you want more than we have in stock, please
email us at sales@partshelf.com,
we'll get back to you with price and availability. We cannot do this over
the phone as it takes time to investigate each situation.
If there is no order button, most likely there are
availability problems. We expect to be out of stock for more than a few days.
If the shopping cart page indicates that there are no units available, then we are temporarily out of stock. The item should be available in a day or two. To avoid disappointment, our
inventory control system prevents us from taking an order for something we don't have on the shelf.
