Non-Contact Digital Infared Thermometer

The Taylor 512 Connoisseur is an extremely compact and handy device for contact-free measurement of temperature. The 512 uses the latest infrared temperature technology to enable measurement in a fraction of a second with no need to touch the object being measured. Features include °F/°C display, Minimum/Maximum memory function, Clock, Ambient temperature display, Stop watch, and Low-battery warning indicator. This versatile thermometer is great for testing grill and other cooking surface temperatures and has a wide temperature measuring range of -67°F to +428°F (-55°C to +220°C). Operation is simple via a single pushbutton, and auto-power off ensures maximum battery life.

The 512 Infrared Thermometer is highly accurate and easy, even fun, to use. The 512 features a pocket clip and a handy detachable lanyard for easy portability. This thermometer comes with a single preinstalled lithium battery.

For hard-to-reach and inaccessible locations

On and inside buildings (heating and cooling loss, cold spots in a house)
For foodstuffs (no transfer of germs or opening of packaging)
On hot components (engines and other machinery, motorsports, model construction)
For heating and sanitation applications (e.g., heat lost)
For engineering (how hot is your CPU cooler getting?)
For cooking (is the griddle, waffle iron or pizza stone up to temperature yet?)

Note: The 512 is preset for an emission factor of 0.95. Most surfaces have an emission factor of 0.8 to 0.98 (the darker and less reflective the surface, the greater the emission factor). Please be aware that infrared thermometers are not suitable for measuring the temperature of polished metals, which have a very low emission factor. Affixing adhesive tape to polished metals, or painting them, increases the emission factor and reduces the inaccuracy of the measurement. Also, infrared thermometers cannot be used to measure the temperature of transparent objects or air temperature.

Additional functions of the 512:

Continuous temperature measurements can be made by holding down the 512's button. Areas that are heating up very quickly, such as on machines or as the result of heat distribution in a room, can be detected in seconds.
The 512 continuously captures minimum and maximum values and simultaneously displays them below the current temperature for quick evaluation of the hottest and coldest points.
A data-hold function stores the last measurement value in the display.
The 512 features a D:S (distance to measuring spot) ratio of 1:1.
