1524 Weatherguide
Wireless
Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer |
|
The Taylor 1524 Weatherguide
is a simple and compact wireless indoor/outdoor thermometer
with MIN/MAX memory.
The 1524 has an easy to read two-Line LCD that
simultaneously displays indoor and outdoor temperatures in bold numbers
1/2 of an inch tall. Also displayed are a low battery
indicator icon, and weather trend icons, which
indicate rising, steady or falling temperatures.
|
|
|
|
|
The
Taylor 1524 is silver with
black trim surrounding its LCD panel.
Hang the 1524 on your wall, or fold out the
integral stand and place it on a shelf, table, or desk.
|
|
|
|
Outdoor temperature
data is transmitted to the 1524 main unit by the included 1534 remote
sensor/transmitter, and the main unit can work with up to three of
these remotes. When equipped with lithium batteries, the 1534 can operate
down to -40°F.
This station
has a minimum/maximum memory for indoor temperature and all outdoor temperatures. The
1524 main unit and the 1534 remote can each be wall-mounted
or free-standing.
The Taylor 1524 Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer's
LCD panel is 1-3/4 inches high by 1-3/4 inches wide. The Indoor and Outdoor temperature digits are
shown in bold numbers
1/2 of an inch tall and can be displayed
in either °F or °C, as selected via the C/F button on the back of
the unit. The 1524 has a total of 3 control pushbuttons on the
back of the case. The integral memory in the
1524 records
maximum and minimum indoor and outdoor temperature values for all remotes in use These values
are available for display during normal operation by momentarily pressing the MIN/MAX button. Minimum and
maximum temperatures are stored and updated until the memory
is reset by pressing and holding the MIN/MAX button.
The 1524 thermometer uses the Taylor 1534 Digital Wireless Remote Sensor. One
1534 is included, and the 1524 actually works with up to three 1534's. Additional remote sensors are sold separately.
The 1534 comes with a temperature probe on a detachable cable. The probe
is ideal for measuring the temperature in a swimming pool, hot tub, or
aquarium and also in soil. Another use for the probe is in extremely cold
conditions, in which case you bring the remote inside and extend the probe
outside (by hanging it out of a window, for example). The 1534 should be
mounted in a sheltered location where direct precipitation cannot fall on
it. Although this remote is splash-resistant, it is not waterproof.
Indoor temperature measuring range of the 1524
is +14°F to +158°F (-10°C to +70°C). Outdoor/remote temperature
measuring range is +14° to 158°F x 0.1° (-10° to 70°C x 0.1°) with alkaline batteries in
remote . Using lithium
batteries in the 1534 extends its low temperature-measuring-limit to -40°
to 158°F. The 1524 main unit and the 1534
remote sensor can be powered by two AAA (1.5V) alkaline batteries. These are not included and must be obtained separately.
Expected battery life is 1 year. If the 1534 remote will be used in
sub-freezing temperatures, lithium AAA batteries are recommended instead of
alkaline. On the back of the 1524 and on
the1534's
mounting bracket are a
keyhole slot for wall mounting and an integral folding table stand. Wall
anchors and wall-mounting screws for both units are included.
If you're in need of an easy to read, and
stylish wireless indoor/outdoor thermometer, you'll find the Taylor 1524 to be both handsome and value-priced. The
1524 is ideal for any room in the house and for monitoring the temperature
in your baby's room, wine cellar, greenhouse, garage, garden, hot tub,
swimming pool, aquarium, or wherever. This product comes with a Taylor
1-year limited warranty.
