Precision 1458
Wireless Indoor/Outdoor ThermoHygrometer
|
|
The
Taylor 1458 Wireless Indoor/Outdoor ThermoHygrometer
(also
called the Taylor 1458 Digital Wireless Weather System) simultaneously
displays indoor and outdoor temperatures and relative humidity in
big, bold numbers about 7/8 inch tall (tenths of a degree are 3/8
inch). Outdoor temperature and humidity data are transmitted to
the 1458 main unit by the included 1459 remote sensor/transmitter,
and the main unit can operate with up to three of these remotes.
The 1459 has its own temperature and humidity display for local
viewing, and you can select °F or °C for the display on both the
1458 and 1458 simply by pushing a button on each unit. This
compact digital thermo-hygrometer has a minimum/maximum memory for
indoor and all outdoor temperatures and humidity. The 1458 is part
of Taylor's latest line of weather products, all of which feature
a slim, contoured profile and larger displays than the products
they replace. The 1458 main unit and the 1459 remote can each be
wall-mounted or free-standing.

| The Taylor
1458 Digital Wireless Indoor Outdoor Thermo-Hygrometer
features the sleek styling and silver color of Taylor's
latest line of weather products. The extra-large 2-line
display on the main unit simultaneously indicates the
indoor and outdoor temperature as °F or °C and the
indoor and outdoor relative humidity in %. These
measurements are displayed in bold numbers about 7/8
inch tall (tenths of a degree are 3/8 inch). Even though its display is large, the 1458
is fairly compact at 5 inches wide by 3-3/8 inches high
by 1-1/8 inches deep. Hang the 1458 on your wall, or
fold out the integral stand and place it on a shelf,
table, or desk. |
|
|
| The
1458 digital wireless thermo-hygrometer monitors and displays the
indoor temperature and relative humidity and, as measured and
reported by the included 1459 wireless sensor, the temperature and
relative humidity at an outdoor or other remote location. Trend
arrows (rising, steady, or falling) are also displayed for all
temperature and humidity readings. Temperatures can be displayed
in either °F or °C, as selected by the dual-function MODE
pushbutton on the top of the case. Relative humidity is displayed
in %. The 1458's other two control pushbuttons are also located on
the top of the case.
The integral memory in the 1458
records maximum and minimum temperature and humidity values for
both the base (indoor) and all remote (outdoor) units. These
values are available for display at the push of the MODE button.
Minimum and maximum temperatures and humidity are stored and
updated until the memory is reset by pressing the CLEAR button.
The 1458 thermo-hygrometer uses the
Taylor 1459 Digital Wireless Remote Sensor. One 1459 is included,
and the 1458 actually works with up to three 1459s. Additional
remote sensors are sold separately. The 1459 is a displaying
thermo-hygro remote that comes with a temperature probe on a
detachable 11-foot (3.3-meter) cable. The probe is ideal for
measuring the temperature in a swimming pool, hot tub, or aquarium
and also in soil. Another use for the probe is in extremely cold
conditions, in which case you bring the remote inside and extend
the probe outside (by hanging it out of a window, for example).
The 1459 should be mounted in a sheltered location where direct
precipitation cannot fall on it. Although this remote is
splash-resistant, it is not waterproof.
Indoor temperature measuring range
of the 1456 is +23°F to +122°F (-5° to +50°C). Outdoor/remote
temperature measuring range is -4°F to +140°F (-20° to
+60°C). Using lithium batteries in the 1459 extends its low
temperature measuring limit to -40°F (-40°C). With the probe
attached, the 1459's low and high temperature measuring limits are
extended to -58°F to +158°F (-50°C to +70°C).
The 1458 main unit and the 1459
remote are each powered by two AA (1.5V) alkaline batteries. These
are not included and must be obtained separately. Expected battery
life is 1 year. If the 1459 remote will be used in sub-freezing
temperatures, lithium AA batteries are recommended instead of
alkaline.
On the back of the 1458 and and on
the snap-on mounting bracket included with the 1459 are keyhole
slots for wall mounting and integral folding table stands. Wall
anchors and wall-mounting screws for both units are included.
If you're looking for a wireless
digital indoor/outdoor thermo-hygrometer that's easy to read from
anywhere in a room, the handsome and value-priced Taylor 1458 is a
fine choice. Not only can it display in °F or °C, it also has a
min/max memory for indoor and all outdoor/remote temperatures and
humidity. The 1458 is ideal for any room in the house and for
monitoring the temperature and humidity in your baby's room, wine
cellar, greenhouse, garage, garden, hot tub, swimming pool,
aquarium, or wherever. This product comes with a 1-year factory
warranty.
