Westclox 43503 White Quartz Electric Alarm Clock

The Westclox 43503 White Quartz Electric Alarm Clock comes in matte white, sports a sleek rounded shape that's easy to grab onto, and has a modern quartz movement powered by ac cord. The Westclox White has a patented battery recharging circuit that keeps the clock ready for power outages, and features a continuously low lit dial for easy viewing in dim conditions.

The Westclox 43503 comes in a contemporary styled, molded resin case in matte white. The base is deeper than the top and gives the clock a nice stable feel, especially while trying to silence an alarm in the dark. The white dial with black numbers and black hands is protected by a shatterproof acrylic lens. The dial face is continuously lit for easy night viewing. The light is very low intensity so it won't distract one from sleeping. Also featured is a red indicator switch to let you know the alarm is on. The dial on this clock is a full 3-1/4 inches in diameter, and the hour numbers are 1/4-inch tall for easy reading.

The Westclox White is intended for placement on a flat surface such as a nightstand, dresser, or shelf. The movement in the White alarm clock is an analog quartz movement, thus it has silent operation. Because the White is ac powered, its clock dial stays constantly lit. You don't have to fumble around in the dark trying to press a button and light a time display that stays lit for only a few seconds. The light is very dim so it won't be a distraction for sleeping. The alarm has a pleasant beeping sound in an ascending pattern. Pressing the snooze button located on top of the clock will silence the alarm for about four minutes and then the alarm will sound again. The snooze function can be repeated up to eight times in a 40 minute period. As long as the alarm switch is set so the bell indicator is red, the alarm will sound again in 12 hours at the set time. Sliding the alarm switch down will disable the alarm feature.
For powering, the White alarm clock requires ac power. To guard against power outages, as a backup, the 43503 has a patented battery recharging circuit and takes one AA(1.2V) rechargeable NiCad battery, which is included.

With its easy setup and quiet operation, the Westclox White is an alarm clock that almost anyone can use and appreciate. And with a modest price tag, it's an excellent value. Naturally, the White alarm clock makes a practical, affordable, gift item.
