The Maverick ET-901 Redi-Chek Voice Alert is a programmable remote food thermometer that lets you monitor the cooking time and internal temperature of meat (or other food) in your oven or barbecue grill wirelessly from up to 100 feet away. Whether you're entertaining or just cooking for the family, the the Maverick ET-901 Redi-Check meat thermometer can make life a little easier for you. That's because while you're away from the oven or grill tending to your guest's needs, or just ducking for cover from a rain shower that's trying to interrupt your outdoor cooking, the ET-901 is minding the cooking. When your food is ready, the Maverick ET-901 Voice Alert literally tells you "Your food is ready". Your days of running back and forth between guests and oven or grill, hoping that you haven't waited too long and overcooked the foods, will be history.

The Maverick ET-901 Redi-Chek Remote Wireless Meat & BBQ Thermometer with Voice Alert consists of two separate units. The rain resistant wireless sensor/transmitter has a stainless steel probe on a 36-inch wire. You place the transmitter in a location near the oven or BBQ but away from direct heat. The receiver simultaneously displays the set point and food temperatures. It also has a countdown timer. You can use the timer and temperature modes at the same time. This means that you can monitor one food's cooking progress in the temperature mode while using the timer mode to keep track of another cooking task.

On the receiver, the food and set point temperatures in your choice of °F or °C and timer reading are all displayed simultaneously. The food temperature digits are about 7/16 inch tall (the set point digits are about 1/4 inch). The timer digits are about 5/16 inch. The display is backlight, so you can read it in the dark.
