Sure Grip Digital Burger Thermometer

With the Acu-Rite 00798 Sure Grip Digital Burger Thermometer, there's no more guessing as to when virtually any type of cooked meat or fowl has reached the proper temperature for safe eating. Whether your favorite ground meat is beef, lamb, veal, pork, turkey, or chicken, this almost instant-reading digital cooking thermometer in the Acu-Rite Barbecue Essentials product line will quickly become an essential in your household.

The Acu-Rite 00798 Sure Grip Digital Burger Thermometer gives you a near-instant LCD readout of the temperature of your burgers or patties in either °F or °C. Use it when you barbecue, broil, or fry, or when you want to check the temperature of refrigerated food.

Featuring a stainless steel probe sensor that has a pointed tip for easy insertion and a safety ring to indicate proper insertion depth, this thermometer is specifically designed and recommended for ground meats only. You'll like its soft-touch Sure Grip handle and large, easy-to-read LCD display with pushbutton selection of °F or °C. You'll also appreciate its quick response time of only 5 to 10 seconds and its wide measurement range of -50° to +392°F (-45° to +200°C).
This thermometer is perhaps the fastest and easiest way to ensure that your burgers or patties have cooked to their USDA recommended internal temperatures. For ground beef, lamb, veal, and pork, this is 160°F (57°C). For ground chicken and turkey, this is 165°F (60°C). You can also use this thermometer to check the temperature of refrigerated foods to ensure that they are cold enough to prevent bacterial growth and spoilage. Vegetarians, please note: Even though the manufacturer's instructions don't mention veggie burgers--and we're not aware of a USDA recommended temperature for cooking them--there's absolutely no reason you can't use this thermometer on them as well.

Overall length of this thermometer, including the handle, is 13.25 inches (337 mm). The required AA (1.5V) battery is included and installs securely in the unit's handle. Please note that this thermometer is neither dishwasher-safe nor submersible. To clean it, you simply turn it off and wash the probe portion of the unit in hot, soapy water. To prevent cross-contamination, the manufacturer suggests washing the probe after each insertion.
