Oregon Scientific RM962A Atomic Time Travel Clock with Indoor Temperature The Oregon Scientific RM962A Atomic Time Clock is Perfect for travel, this compact digital alarm clock features a daily crescendo alarm with snooze function, a calendar display, and the absolute accuracy that only a radio-controlled clock can provide. Click to Enlarge You'll appreciate the complete accuracy and convenient features of the Oregon Scientific RM962A digital clock with ExactSet™  technology, calendar display, daily alarm with snooze, and indoor thermometer.  The Hours and minutes are displayed along with your choice of seconds or weekday. Month and date are shown simultaneously with the time. The weekday abbreviation is user-selectable for three different languages. Indoor temperature is shown in degrees Fahrenheit. A bright blue electroluminescent (EL) backlight for night viewing is provided, and the required batteries (two AAA) are included. Also provided is a handy leatherette pouch for travel and storage. The clock automatically sets time and date by synchronizing to the radio signal (WWVB, 60kHz) from the U.S. atomic clock in Colorado. In radio-controlled mode, clock adjusts automatically for Daylight Saving Time. Time and date can be manually set if desired. Three-line LCD display with larger hour-and-minute indication provides easy reading. Time is displayed in 12-hour mode.   Available time displays are hour and minute with seconds or hour and minute with weekday. Weekday abbreviation is user-selectable for English, French, or Spanish. Daily alarm is a 2-minute crescendo pattern with an 8-minute snooze function. Indoor temperature display is in °F.  Backlight duration is 5 seconds. Radio signal strength and low-battery indications are provided.   Slim and pocket-sized, this clock looks great in silver with black trim and black function buttons. The clock has a retractable stand that rotates outward for placement on a table, shelf, or desk and then inward, flush with the clock case, for travel or storage in its pouch. Atomic, or Radio Controlled clocks receive a radio signal to set themselves. Like any radio receiver however, they may not be able to receive the signal if they are in a building with a lot of steel in the structure, near computers or other electrical equipment that may generate interference, or if the weather is unsuitable. The signal they receive does not propagate well during the day. That's the nature of the signal, not the clock. These clocks are designed to catch the signal when they can, generally in the middle of the night, calibrate themselves, and then run quite accurately for days until they can catch another signal. When you first put in the batteries, they will most likely not set themselves until the middle of the night. That's normal. By morning, weather permitting, it should be correct. Under less than ideal conditions, it could take a few days. Daylight savings time changes may not be made the first night if location and weather are not favorable.
