Oregon
Scientific AW131 Talking Wireless BBQ Meat Thermometer and
Timer
|
|
|
The Oregon Scientific
AW131 Talking Wireless BBQ Meat Thermometer and Timer can make life a little easier for you.
That's because while you're away from the grill tending to your guest's
needs, the Oregon Scientific AW131 is minding the grilling and will tell you
when your meat is nearly done, and again when it's done. Your days of running back and forth between guests
and grill, hoping that you haven't waited too long and overcooked the
meat, will be over.

The
Oregon Scientific AW131 is really easy to use. On
the monitor, select your
entrée: Beef, Lamb, Veal,
Hamburger, Pork, Turkey, Chicken,
or Fish. The graphic display displays in 1/8" text and graphic icons, and
the voice will announce the chosen meat. Then select the desired level of doneness: Rare, Medium
Rare, Medium, or Well Done. The selection is displayed in 1/8" text and
announced by the voice. The target temperature corresponding to your
selections is displayed, along with the current meat temperature, both in
fairly large 3/8" digits.
You may alter the target temperature to taste if desired.
Place the thermometer sensor on a cool surface outside of the
grill, insert the tip of the probe into the center of the meat, and
begin cooking. Clip the monitor to your belt, or take it with you
and place it nearby when you're away from the grill. As the meat
cooks, both the target temperature and the current temperature of
the meat are displayed on the monitor.
When the meat is nearly done, you hear
2 beeps from
the monitor, and the voice will say "Nearly done". When the meat reaches the target temperature, you hear
4 beeps, and the voice will say "It's done". If the meat starts to overcook,
the screen will flash and you hear a
continuous fast beep.
Below the target and current
temperature display is a count up/down timer display in 1/4" digits. The timer
functions independently of the thermometer. The timer may be used to
time the same, or another food if desired.
The Oregon Scientific AW131
may be configured for °F or
°C, high or low volume, and voice language, choices are
English, Danish, French, Spanish and German.
Range of the Oregon Scientific
AW131 is 330 feet in free air, walls and signal interference can reduce
the range. The receiver unit has a signal strength icon to let you know if
you are within range, and will beep three times if you move out of range.
Note:
The operating temperature range of the probe is 32 °F to 572 °F.
Grease flare-ups can exceed the temperature range of the probe wire, as
can grill temperatures of some grills. Please take care to route the
probe wire where flare-ups are unlikely, and keep the grill temperature
below 572 °F.

We can handle large orders
for nearly anything we have by special order, and quantity
discounts are available.
For quantities of 10 or more, or if you want more than we have in stock, please
email us at sales@partshelf.com,
we'll get back to you with price and availability. We cannot do this over
the phone as it takes time to investigate each situation.
If there is no order button, most likely there are
availability problems. We expect to be out of stock for more than a few days.
If the shopping cart page indicates that there are no units available, then we are temporarily out of stock. The item should be available in a day or two. To avoid disappointment, our
inventory control system prevents us from taking an order for something we don't have on the shelf.
