The Oregon Scientific RAR188A-BK Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer is a stylish digital thermometer that simultaneously displays indoor and outdoor temperatures plus time and calendar information on its 4-section LCD panel. The outdoor temperature is transmitted to the RAR188A-BK from the included THN122N remote sensor, and it can actually work with up to three remotes (additional remotes are optional and sold separately). This thermometer has minimum/maximum memory and a digital clock that features calendar and dual 2-minute crescendo alarms. You can use the RAR188A as a free-standing unit, or you can detach its table stand and hang it on a wall. For a small wireless digital thermometer, the RAR188A offers a whole lot of functionality.

The compact RAR188A-BK is silver and black in front and black on the back of the unit. Its styling is simple, modern, and handsome. On the top section of the LCD panel, the unit displays the remote/outdoor temperature and below this, the indoor temperature is displayed. On the bottom two sections, the time, day, date and alarm icons are shown.

At only 3-1/4 inches wide by 5-1/4 inches tall by 1-3/4 inches deep, the RAR188A-BK fits comfortably almost anywhere, including crowded desks and small nightstands. The clock's LCD panel is about 1-1/2 inches wide by 2-1/2 inches high. The outdoor and indoor temperature are both just over 1/2 inch tall. The hour, minutes, and numeric date/seconds are slightly under 1/2 inch in height.
The RAR188A-BK monitors and displays the indoor temperature plus the outdoor temperature in up to three locations by means of the included remote sensor and one or two additional remote sensors, which are are optional and sold separately. The remote sensors can transmit up to 100 feet (30 meters) in an open area with no interference. On both the main unit, temperatures can be displayed in either °F or °C, as selected during setup. The main unit displays a temperature trend arrow (rising, steady, or falling) for each outdoor/remote channel temperature.
The included wireless remote temperature sensor is white in color and can be wall mounted. As mentioned above, the RAR188A-BK can operate with up to three THN122N remotes.
Two independent alarms can also be set. When either alarm goes off, it sounds for 2 minutes unless you press the AL ON/OFF button. On the calendar display, you can select English, German, French, Italian, or Spanish for the two-letter weekday abbreviation. Month and date are displayed digitally in that order. Please note that the clock in the RAR188A is a standard digital clock, not an atomic (radio-controlled) clock.
The requires two AA (1.5V) alkaline batteries, and the included remote requires two AAA (1.5V) alkaline batteries. You may want to try AAA lithium batteries in the remote instead of alkaline if the remote will be used in continuous sub-freezing temperatures. The RAR188A-BK provides low-battery indications for the main indoor receiver.
If you need a compact wireless thermometer with multiple remote capability, temperature with min/max memory, an integral clock with dual alarms, calendar and some other nice features, the Oregon Scientific RAR188A-BK is a fine choice. Reasonably Small in size but big in functionality, the RAR188A Wireless Thermometer is perfect for home or office use. It comes with a 1-year factory warranty.

Dual Crescendo Alarms
Main unit requires AA (1.5V) alkaline batteries, and remote requires two AAA (1.5V) alkaline batteries. You may want to use lithium AAA batteries in the remote instead of alkaline under continuous sub-freezing conditions.
Main unit displays low-battery icons when batteries on main unit need to be replaced.
Both main unit can be wall-mounted or free-standing, remote can be wall mounted
