Digital Atomic Clock in White

The La Crosse WS-8119U-IT-W Digital Atomic Clock is a digital wall clock that displays radio controlled atomic time as well as the indoor and outdoor temperature. Additionally, the WS-8119U-IT-W features a calendar which displays the date and day of the week. The La Crosse Technology WS-8119U-IT-W is primarily intended to be hung on a wall, but with its integral flip-out stand (on the back of the clock) it can be placed on a desk or nightstand.

The WS-8119U-IT-W can be set-up to display the time in any time zone in whole hours from 12 whole hours before, to 12 whole hours after GMT. This, of course, includes the US time zones from Eastern time to Alaskan time, as well as most of the world. Daylight savings time changes (appropriate to most of the US) will be automatic upon the next successful signal reception, unless the DST function is intentionally disabled.

Outdoor temperature data is transmitted to the La Crosse Technology WS-8119U-IT-W by the included TX-38U-IT temperature transmitter. The outdoor transmitter is best mounted out of direct sunlight and driving rain.

Note: This product has "atomic" clock functionality. Atomic, or Radio Controlled clocks receive a radio signal to set themselves. Like any radio receiver however, they may not be able to receive the signal if they are in a building with a lot of steel in the structure, near computers or other electrical equipment that may generate interference, or if the weather is unsuitable. The signal they receive does not propagate well during the day. That's the nature of the signal, not the clock. These clocks are designed to catch the signal when they can, generally in the middle of the night, calibrate themselves, and then run quite accurately for days until they can catch another signal. When you first put in the batteries, they will most likely not set themselves until the middle of the night. That's normal. By morning, weather permitting, it should be correct. Under less than ideal conditions, it could take a few days. Daylight savings time changes may not be made the first night if location and weather are not favorable.
