We strive to do
online retailing the way it should be done. We treat everyone the way we'd
like to be treated.
1. We stock everything we sell.
It is a common practice for merchants on
the internet to offer products for sale that they don't stock. Typically,
when you place an order, they just forward the order to someone else that they
hope has the product. They really don't know if the product is available
or how long it will take to get it shipped until after you've placed your
order. If they can't get the product, you may not find out for days.
At Partshelf.com, if we don't have an item
on the shelf ready to ship, an order
cannot be placed for that item. Our computerized inventory system controls
the shopping cart in the store. When you place an item in the cart, you
can see how many we have on our shelf. When you check out, your item is
reserved for you.
2. We know our products.
Many online retailers have never even seen
the products they are selling. They've simply taken information from the
manufacturer's site and listed it on their site. How do you know the
product is any good? Is the information accurate? What does it
really look like?
At Partshelf.com, we personally get to
know every product. We take it out of the package, try it out, and then
write an original product description. You find out what the strengths and
weaknesses of each product are.
3. We support our customers.
When you shop online, make sure the
retailer has a phone number that you can call for help. Many of these
places are part time operations with nobody available to help you if you have a
problem. Make sure they are reputable enough that they will still be
around if you need warranty help a year from now.
We have both Email and phone
support. We have a technical support person on staff. We can help
you with the product. We are familiar with every product, and can take one
from stock and look at it if necessary to answer your questions. You will
not get better service anywhere. We've been around since 1996, we'll be
here if you need us.
4. Shipping costs.
Don't get fooled by retailers that offer
low prices, and then overcharge on the shipping.
We pack every product carefully. We
use more expensive but environmentally sound biodegradable fill. Our
"damaged in shipping" rate is much better than average. We offer
shipping at cost, which includes the cost of the actual freight, the box,
labels, and packing material.
Our price is never the lowest. The
guy with the lowest price is the guy who provides no support, overcharges for
shipping, and probably won't be here in 6 months. Is that really what you
want? Our prices are fair, and as low as we can make them and still
provide top notch customer service.
