The Chaney Instrument Sure Grip Digital Instant Read Stainless Steel Probe Thermometer gives you a near-instant LCD readout of the temperature of virtually any type of cooked meat in either °F or °C. Featuring an 8-inch stainless steel probe sensor, the Chaney 03144 thermometer is excellent for large and thick cuts of meat (such as roasts and ham) and fowl. A thermometer of this type is perhaps the fastest and easiest way to ensure that your meat has cooked to its USDA recommended internal temperatures. With its slender, pointed probe, the 03144 can be inserted deeper into large roasts, for example, than can a fork-type thermometer. For handy reference, the USDA recommended internal temperatures for common meat types are printed on one side of the included protective storage sheath. A table with more extensive meat and fowl listings is on the back of the cardboard insert in the 03144's package. You can also use the 03144 probe thermometer to check the temperature of refrigerated foods to ensure that they are cold enough to prevent bacterial growth and spoilage.

Overall length of this thermometer, including the handle, is 14.25 inches (362 mm). The required AA (1.5V) battery is included and installs securely in the unit's handle. Please note that this thermometer is neither dishwasher-safe nor submersible. To clean it, you simply turn it off and wash the probe portion of the unit with hot, soapy water. To prevent cross-contamination, the manufacturer suggests washing the probe after each insertion.
