Outdoor Window Thermometer

The Acu-Rite 00799 Outdoor Window Thermometer is a compact and cool-looking digital outdoor thermometer. It mounts on the outer surface of a window. Through the window from indoors, you can view the current outdoor temperature in digits just over 3/4 inch tall (tenths of a degree are about half that size). The digits seem to float in the 00799's LCD panel. On this particular thermometer, temperatures are displayed in °F.

Featuring contemporary styling,
the Acu-Rite 00799 window thermometer displays the current outdoor temperature in digits over 3/4 inch tall. This weather-resistant thermometer has a measuring range of -4°F to +158°F.

You'll want to select a mounting location for the 00799 that's both easy to view through a window and out of direct sunlight. Mounting the 00799 in direct sunlight causes artificially high temperature readings.
Setting up and installing the 00799 are a breeze. The required L1154 button cell battery is included and preinstalled. You simply lift the rubber seal cap from the bottom of the unit and slide the switch to the ON position to activate the unit. You then replace the rubber seal cap in its original position to properly weatherproof the unit. On the back of the main body of the 00799 (the portion below the display that contains the circuitry and battery) is a suction cup that adheres to a window. Be sure that the window area on which you mount the 00799 must is absolutely clean and dry when you install it. Moisten the suction cup before applying it to the window.
The 00799 features clean, modern styling. The main body is silver-tone plastic with a tapered shape. Extending up from the main body is the transparent plastic LCD panel with a gray-green tint that makes it look almost like glass. With its small size (just over 3 inches tall), good looks, and easy-to-read display, the 00799 is a handsome and reasonably priced alternative to the more common analog thermometers that mount outside of a window.
