Women's Dress Watch with Three-Hand Display and
Adjustable Link-Type Metal Band

Carriage by Timex is a line of affordable fashion watches for women who want to keep up with changing trends but not spend a small fortune doing so. Some carriage watches tend toward the contemporary, while others offer a more classic look. The Timex Carriage C51142 Analog Women's Dress Watch is one of the latter. It is petite in size with styling that is elegant and dressy enough for almost any occasion. The band has easy-to-remove links and will fit a wide range of wrist sizes. Unlike some women's watches, this one has a second hand in addition to hour and minute hands.

The case of the C51142 is silver-tone metal with a polished finish. The watch face is circular in shape and off-white in color with polished silver-tone metal hands. The slender, black, serif-type hour numbers add to the classic look of the off-white face. The link-type metal band is polished silver-tone metal that matches the case. This band features easily removable links so that it can be sized properly for most women's wrists. The back of the watch case is stainless steel.

Timex has long been noted for offering products of high quality and durability at very affordable prices. The Carriage C51142 analog women's watch is no exception. For women who want a small dress watch with a metal band and classic, elegant styling but no designer price tag, the C51142 is a fine choice.
Note 1: The user documentation for this watch is generic. The instructions and illustrations for link removal don't exactly match the band on this watch, so we'll tell you how it's done. If you check out the three links in the middle of the band opposite the case, you'll notice that they have solid rectangular center sections instead of the open center sections of the regular links. These are the removable links.
If you look at the inside of the center sections of the removable links, you'll see that each center section is hinged by a pin at one end. If you move two links together to expose the end of a center section opposite its hinge, you'll see a projection that allows you to flip open that center section (rather than twisting a link). For this watch, I use my thumbnail or the tip of a finger to flip the link open. You may want to wear a lightweight glove to protect your fingernail while doing this. You'll probably need to open a center section to "unbuckle" the band to put the watch on your wrist. To size the band, you can completely remove one or two of the middle links as needed. (One of the removable links must remain to join to the rest of the band). When the watch is on your wrist, you can push two adjacent links together so that the center section of a removable link is oriented vertically and can be flipped open to take the watch off. This is easy to do if you don't wear the watch too tightly.
If the watch is still too large after removing two middle links as described above, you'll need to have some regular links removed. We strongly recommend that you have this link removal done by a professional with the proper tools and experience.
Note 2: Like many small dress watches, this one is not water resistant. Don't splash it heavily or submerge it.
