Acu-Rite 02001
Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermo-Hygrometer

The Acu-Rite 02001 Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermo-Hygrometer displays weather forecast, indoor temperature, outdoor temperature, indoor humidity, outdoor humidity, as well as atomic time, date and day of the week on its blue-backlit LCD display. The weather forecaster uses Acu-Rite's patent pending 14 day learning mode. When the Acu-Rite 02001 is activated, the forecaster will analyze atmospheric pressure variations for 14 days to profile it's location. Once the 14 days have passed, the unit can use barometric pressure and temperature data to display a weather forecast icon with superior accuracy. The weather forecast icon will display the likely weather forecast for the next 12 to 24 hours.

The Acu-Rite 02001 is finished in black with silver trim. The weather forecast is prominently displayed on the middle of the LCD display, while the outdoor temperature data is displayed on the upper right. Indoor temperature data, time, day of the week, and date are also displayed. The Acu-Rite 02001 is about 6 inches tall and 4 inches wide. The unit can hang on a wall, or stand on it's own with the stand flipped out.

Above the weather forecast icon is the outdoor temperature and humidity data. Outdoor temperature is displayed in large 3/4 inch digits, along with daily high and low temperature in 1/4 inch digits, and outdoor humidity is shown in digits about 1/2 of an inch tall. You may choose temperature in °F or °C. Also displayed is a signal strength display, indicating the strength of the signal received from the remote wireless temperature sensor.

Prominently displayed in the center of the display is a weather forecast icon. This self calibrating weather forecaster analyzes it's environment in order to give you a forecast with superior accuracy. Based on barometric pressure changes and outdoor temperature, the forecaster displays a weather prediction for the next 12 to 24 hours.

Displayed below the weather forecast icon are the indoor temperature and humidity data, as well as the time and date. The Acu-Rite 02001 has Atomix clock functionality. The 02001 can receive WWVB radio broadcasts carrying timing information from the US atomic clock source in Colorado. As long as the WWVB signal reaches the 02001, the time display will be accurate to a fraction of a second, and DST changes will be automatic (DST changes may be optionally disabled). Time is displayed in 12 hour mode in 2/3 inch digits, along with a WWVB signal strength indication.

Indoor temperature data is displayed in nearly 1 inch digits the lower right, along with indoor daily high and low temperatures.

The 02001 comes with a wireless remote temperature sensor. Range from the remote sensor to the display is up to 100 feet when unobstructed. Obstructions such as trees, walls, or electrical interference will reduce the range. Normally, the sensor can be powered by two AA Alkaline batteries. If the outdoor temperature drops below -4 °F in your location, it is recommended that you use Lithium batteries, as Alkaline batteries are not reliable at low temperatures.

Note: This product has "atomic" clock functionality. Atomic, or Radio Controlled clocks receive a radio signal to set themselves. Like any radio receiver however, they may not be able to receive the signal if they are in a building with a lot of steel in the structure, near computers or other electrical equipment that may generate interference, or if the weather is unsuitable. The signal they receive does not propagate well during the day. That's the nature of the signal, not the clock. These clocks are designed to catch the signal when they can, generally in the middle of the night, calibrate themselves, and then run quite accurately for days until they can catch another signal. When you first put in the batteries, they will most likely not set themselves until the middle of the night. That's normal. By morning, weather permitting, it should be correct. Under less than ideal conditions, it could take a few days. Daylight savings time changes may not be made the first night if location and weather are not favorable.
